Grammy-winning singer songwriter and Tony-nominated composer of Waitress Sara Bareilles is currently making the press rounds for Season 3 of the comedy series Girls5Eva. In a visit with Seth Meyers on Late Night, she divulged that she actually heard the show had been cancelled after Season 2 while doing that season's press tour. "It did?" she questioned. "That seems so hurtful." (Watch the clip above.)
Girls5Eva stars Bareilles along with Busy Phillips, Paula Pell, and Renée Elise Goldsberry as a '90s girl group trying to make a comeback. It originally premiered on Peacock in 2021 and ran for two seasons. After the streamer chose not to renew the Tina Fey-produced series, Netflix snatched it up for a third season. The new Season 3 will release on Netflix March 14, along with the first two seasons.
In her Late Night visit, Bareilles also chats about the Waitress film, which she starred in with her now-fiancé Joe Tippett. Don't miss the bit about how he forgot to bring the ring to the proposal! Joe!
