In the heart of Times Square, Justin Guarini (American Idol, Wicked) and the cast of Britney Spears jukebox musical Once Upon a One More Time joined Good Morning America to perform the pop hit-turned-Broadway tune "Circus." Originally released by Spears in 2008 as the titular track of her sixth studio album, the song now gets a fairytale twist.
Guarini plays Prince Charming in the musical, which puts a spin on the stories of some familiar fairytale characters. In Once Upon a One More Time, the fairy godmother goes rogue and plops copies of The Feminine Mystique in the laps of classic fairytale heroines. Inspired by the text, the heroines try to change their stories. And it's all set to the soundtrack of songs made famous by the Princess of Pop. Once Upon a One More Time features a book by Jon Hartmere (bare).
