Part of the "In The Company of Friends: Dancers Talking to Dancers" series, the 8 PM evening at the St. Luke's Theater will be hosted by Emmy Award winner Valerie Harper. Grover Dale will moderate the evening's panel. Among those who will reminisce about Kidd are his widow, Shelah Hackett Kidd, as well as many of the dancers who appeared in Kidd's shows: Judy Dunford, Carolyn Kirsch and Teak Lewis from Breakfast at Tiffany's; Valerie Harper from Subways are for Sleeping and L'il Abner; Shirley Nelson Holst and Shelah Hackett Kidd from Destry Rides Again; Dick Korthaze from Skyscraper; and Iva Withers from the original Guys and Dolls.

Other guests will include members of the cast of the "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" film, including Jane Powell, Jacques d'Amboise, Norma Doggett Bezwick, Virginia Gibson and Fred Curt. The evening will also feature rare footage and clips from Kidd's shows.

Dancers Over 40 will donate a video of the event to the Jerome Robbins Dance Collection at the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

Michael Kidd began his Broadway career as a performer in the late thirties/early forties in Filling Station, The Ballet Caravan, Billy the Kid, Interplay and Ballet Theatre. One of his early choreography credits was the original production of Finian's Rainbow, for which Mr. Kidd won a 1947 Tony Award, tying with Agnes de Mille (Brigadoon). He would go on to win four other Tony Awards — for his choreography for Guys and Dolls, Can-Can, Li'l Abner and Destry Rides Again.

St. Luke's Theater is located in Manhattan at 308 West 46th Street. Tickets, priced $35 and $15 (for members of Dancers Over 40), are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
