The 18 productions discussed include: All The Way, Rocky, Aladdin, Les Misérables, Mothers and Sons, If/Then, A Raisin in the Sun, The Realistic Joneses, Bullets Over Broadway, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, Of Mice and Men, Act One, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Violet, The Velocity of Autumn, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Casa Valentina and Cabaret.

In addition to the rulings that the Off-Broadway musicals Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Violet will be eligible in the categories of Best Revival of a Musical, the Administration Committee also stated that the Roundabout remounting of Cabaret, which previously won the Tony for Best Revival, was eligible for inclusion in the 2014 category. 

The Tony Awards Administration Committee also deemed that the Broadway premiere of Lanie Robertson's Off-Broadway play with music Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill will be eligible in the category of Best Revival of a Play. This ruling positions the five-time Tony Award-winning actress Audra McDonald the potential to be nominated in the only Tony acting category for which she has not won, Best Actress in a Play.

Although Kenny Leon and Brian MacDevitt worked on the 2004 revival of A Raisin in the Sun, they are both eligible for Directing and Lighting Design Tony nominations, respectively, for their work on the new production. Leon or MacDevitt were not nominated for their work in 2004. Denzel Washington is eligible for Leading Actor, and LaTanya Richardson Jackson is eligible for Leading Actress (the Tony Award that Phylicia Rashad took home in 2004).

In Rocky, Broadway newcomer Margo Seibert, who stars as Adrian — and sings the ballad "Raining," the duets "The Flip Side" and "Happiness" and the commanding musical number "I'm Done" — is not eligible for Leading Actress. Andy Karl, whose name appears below the title in Rocky, has been elevated for Leading Actor. James Monroe Iglehart, who plays the Genie and, at times, acts as the show's emcee, leads the company in "Arabian Nights," "Friend Like Me," "Prince Ali" and others, but is not eligible for Leading Actor. Adam Jacobs and Courtney Reed, who star as Aladdin and Jasmine, respectively, are the only actors in the leading categories. The score, featuring music from the 1992 Disney film of the same name and peppered with a handful of early songs cut from the screen version — as well as additional material by Alan Menken and Chad Beguelin — is eligible for Best Score.

Les Misérables' Ramin Karimloo and Will Swenson are both up for Leading Actor in a Musical. Colm Wilkinson and Terrence Mann were both nominated for Leading Actor Tonys in the original 1987 production. Although Christine Rowland — who designed costumes alongside original designer Adreanne Neofitou — is new to Les Miz, she will not be eligible for Costume Design.

Marin Mazzie, who stars in the coveted role of Helen Sinclar in Bullets Over Broadway, is not eligible for Leading Actress. The only actor eligible in a leading category is Zach Braff.

In Violet, If/Then, Cabaret, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and The Cripple of Inishmaan, the only actors eligible in the leading category are Sutton Foster, Idina Menzel, Michelle Williams, Neil Patrick Harris and Daniel Radcliffe for their respective shows. Alan Cumming is not eligible for a Tony Award, since he won for the same role in 1998. No actor is eligible for a leading category in Casa Valentina.

Tony Award nominations will be announced April 29 at 8:30 AM ET in the Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel.

The committee made the following determinations:

Andy Karl will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical category for his performance in Rocky.

Adam Jacobs and Courtney Reed will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor/Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical categories for their respective performances in Aladdin.

Ramin Karimloo and Will Swenson will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical category for their respective performances in Les Misérables.

Tyne Daly and Frederick Weller will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress/Actor in a Leading Role in a Play categories for their respective performances in Mothers and Sons.

LaTanya Richardson Jackson will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play category for her performance in A Raisin in the Sun.

Zach Braff will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical category for his performance in Bullets Over Broadway.

Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill will be considered eligible in the Best Revival of a Play category.

Santino Fontana and Tony Shalhoub will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play category for their respective performances in Act One.

The Cripple of Inishmaan will be considered eligible in the Best Revival of a Play category.

Violet will be considered eligible in the Best Revival of a Musical category.

Colin Donnell, Alexander Gemignani and Joshua Henry will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical category for their respective performances in Violet.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch will be considered eligible in the Best Revival of a Musical category.

All other eligibility determinations were consistent with the show’s opening night credits.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee features 24 members, ten designated by the American Theatre Wing, ten by the Broadway League, and one each by the Dramatists Guild, Actors' Equity Association, United Scenic Artists and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.

This committee, according to the Tony Awards, "determines eligibility for nominations in all awards categories and reviews the rules governing the awards. It may, at its discretion, bestow non-competitive Tony Awards including Special Tony Awards, the Regional Theatre Tony Award, and the Isabelle Stevenson Award; as well as Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre."

Tony nominee Jonathan Groff and Emmy nominee Lucy Liu will announce the nominations for the 68th Annual Tony Awards April 29 at 8:30 AM ET in the Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel.

The nominations will be broadcast on "CBS This Morning" and in their entirety at TonyAwards.com and NY1, where available. Playbill.com will also post the full list of nominees when they become available.

The Tony Awards will be broadcast June 8 in a live three-hour ceremony from Radio City Music Hall on CBS beginning at 8 PM ET. Tony winner Hugh Jackman will once again host.
