The U.K. tour of Ghost the Musical opens August 22 at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre with engagements booked through May 2025.
Rebekah Lowings (The Sound of Music) and Jacqui Dubois (People, Places and Things) reprise their roles as Molly Jenson and Oda Mae Brown, respectively, joined by Josh St. Clair (Frozen) as Sam Wheat, James Mateo-Salt (Bonnie and Clyde) as Carl Bruner, and TV favorite Les Dennis as Hospital Ghost and Lionel Ferguson.
The cast also includes Jules Brown (The Shawshank Redemption) reprising the role of Willie Lopez, Garry Lee (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as Subway Ghost, Tanisha Butterfield (Sister Act The Musical) as Clara, Keiahna Jackson-Jones as Louise, Molly Cleere (Mamma Mia! The Party) as Mrs. Santiago/Bank Officer, Gabrielle Cummins (Annie) as Officer Wallace, Olivia-Rose Deer as Susan/Ortisha, Wade Lewin (The Lion King) as Orlando, Jamie Pritchard (Les Misérables) as Detective Biederman, with Joe Readman (Grease The Musical) in the ensemble.
Based on the Paramount Pictures film of the same name, the musical has a book and lyrics by the film's Oscar-winning screenwriter, Bruce Joel Rubin, and music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Grammy winner Glen Ballard. Ghost the Musical also includes the classic hit "Unchained Melody," written by Hy Zaret and Alex North, which was featured in the blockbuster film starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg.
The tour also has direction by Bob Tomson, choreography
by Alistair David, design by Mark Bailey, lighting design by Nick
Richings, sound design by Dan Samson, illusions by Richard Pinner, and
music direction by Jordan Alexander.
The musical follows Molly, who, walking back to her apartment one
night, sees her boyfriend Sam murdered. With the help of a phony
storefront psychic,
Sam, trapped between this world and the next, tries to communicate with
Molly in the hope of saving her from grave danger.
Premiering in Manchester in 2011, Ghost the Musical
subsequently played Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre March-August 2012
and the West End as well as numerous international tours.
