The U.K. and Ireland tour of the Tony-, Grammy-, and Olivier-winning musical Jersey Boys will welcome several new cast members beginning September 27 in Woking.
Christopher Short will step into the role of Nick Massi, joining current Four Seasons Michael Pickering as Frankie Valli, Blair Gibson as Bob Gaudio, and Dalton Wood as Tommy DeVito. Ryan Heenan plays Valli at certain performances.
Also joining the cast will be Matthew Lawrence as Norm Waxman, Victoria McCabe as Francine, Dan O’Brien as Hank Majewski, and swings Olly Manley and Kirsty Whelan.
They will join current cast members Emma Crossley as Mary Delgado, Jordan James as Gyp DeCarlo, Michael Levi as Bob Crewe, George Salmon as Joe Pesci, Ellie Seaton as Lorraine, Damien Winchester as Barry Belson, and swings Tom O’Brien and Nathan Routledge.
Written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio and lyrics by Bob Crewe, the international hit musical details the rise of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. This tour opened at New Wimbledon Theatre November 24, 2021, and is currently scheduled through April 2023.
Jersey Boys opened in New York in November 2005, ending its 11-year run January 15, 2017, after 4,642 performances at the August Wilson Theatre. The musical first ran in London March 18, 2008–March 26, 2017, and, at the time, was the sixth longest-running musical in the West End. The musical also began an Off-Broadway run in November 2017 at New World Stages; that production closed May 22.
The musical returned to the West End, opening in August 2021 at the refurbished Trafalgar Theatre, where it continues.
The U.K. and Ireland tour is staged by the entire original Broadway creative team, led by the Tony-winning team of director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo, with scenic design by Klara Zieglerova, costume design by Jess Goldstein, lighting by Howell Binkley, sound by Steve Canyon Kennedy, and projections design by Michael Clark. The orchestrations are by Steve Orich, and the music supervision and vocal arrangements by Ron Melrose. Casting is by Jill Green.
