Fresh off his Broadway stint in the lead role of Lola for the long-running Broadway musical Kinky Boots, American Idol star Todrick Hall has returned to the road with his glittering concert show based on his 2016 album Straight Outta Oz.

The concert is headed for Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and other U.S. cities. Next stop: the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville, Kentucky, on April 10.

The album and concert compare the story of Hall’s life and career with the story of L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz. Hall told Playbill, “I want this show to do so much more than a YouTube visual album. I think this show has the potential to be on Broadway in some shape or form. That’s my goal, to hopefully be talking to you in a couple of years about the Broadway version of this show.”

Hall interrupted the 2016 tour of the concert November 2016 to March 2017 to play Lola in Cyndi Lauper’s and Harvey Fierstein’s hit. But the Straight Outta Oz concert tour resumed March 30 en route to two dozen North American, European, and Australian locations.

Hall, known for reaching the semi-finals in the sixth season (2009–2010) of TV’s American Idol, Hall also understudied the role of Harpo in the original 2005 Broadway production of The Color Purple and covered the role of Gator in 2009’s Memphis.

Tickets for the concert tour can be ordered from Hall's website or via Ticketmaster.com.
