The hit Off-Broadway musical Titanìque, an irreverent send-up of the blockbuster film Titanic, is getting ready to sail overseas. The 2023 Lortel Award-winning Best Musical will make its Canadian debut this fall with a London premiere also on the horizon.
Driven by the songs of pop icon and Canada native Céline Dion, Titanìque will debut in Montreal at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts October 27–November 24, followed by an engagement at Toronto’s CAA Theatre December 5, 2024–January 12, 2025. This all-Canadian production will feature Québec star Véronique Claveau as Céline Dion. Additional casting will be announced.
Dates and casting for the London production of Titanique, co-produced by Eva Price and Michael Harrison, will follow at a later date.
“When we charted the international path of Titanique, we knew one thing: that it must go to Canada,” says producer Price in a statement. “We cannot wait for the fabulous Canadian people—her ‘best frens’—to experience this deep and true love letter to the one-and-only Celine Dion. We’re also so thrilled to share our plans to set sail across the pond, and bring this hysterical slayfest to London audiences soon!”
Parodying the Oscar-winning film Titanic, Céline Dion commandeers a tour at the Titanic Museum and delivers her version of what really went down between Jack and Rose with hits by the iconic singer, including "My Heart Will Go On," "All By Myself," and "To Love You More."
Marla Mindelle and Constantine Rousouli co-wrote the musical with production director Tye Blue. Off-Broadway's Titanìque features music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Nicholas Connell, choreography by Ellenore Scott, scenic design by Gabriel Hainer Evansohn and Grace Lauchbacher for Iron Bloom Creative Production, costume design by Alejo Vietti, lighting design by Paige Seber, sound design by Lawrence Schober, wig design by Tommy Kurzman, and prop design by Eric Reynolds. Casting is by The Telsey Office's Rachel Hoffman, Henry Russell Bergstein, and Andrew Fern.
The work transferred from the Asylum Theatre to the Daryl Roth, where it is currently scheduled to run through January 12, 2025.
