"These Paper Bullets!" Writer Signs Contract with Fox for Theatre and TV Projects | Playbill

News "These Paper Bullets!" Writer Signs Contract with Fox for Theatre and TV Projects Writer/Producer Rolin Jones and the man behind Yale Repertory's acclaimed production, These Paper Bullets, has signed a contract with 20th Century Fox Television to develop projects through his theatre company, New Neighborhood; according to the Hartford Courant.

As stated in the Connecticut news source, the deal provides Jones with the financial support needed to produce live theatrical shows in various unique locations, from the stage to a bar, to a moving train. The spirit of the company is to adopt a bohemian, travelling mindset and create a community that isn't based in one specific location. Each theatrical project will call to action specific artists associated with New Neighborhood and could take place anywhere in the country. Jackson Gay will direct the first of the productions by the group, scheduled to be announced at the Humana Festival of New American Plays in Louisville.

Jones is also developing a television drama for Fox. His TV credits include "Weeds," "Friday Night Lights," and "Boardwalk Empire."

Jones' These Paper Bullets!, a modish adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado, premiered at Yale Repertory last March, featuring songs by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and direction by Jackson Gay. It is scheduled to play at Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse as well as Off-Broadway at the Atlantic Theatre Company.
