The California venue's 2024 season will kick off March 15.

5-Star Theatricals has announced an exciting lineup of musicals for its 2024 season. This year, the California theatre company will hold performances at the Kavli and Scherr Forum Theatres at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center.

The season will kick off in March with Million Dollar Quartet. With an original concept and direction by Floyd Mutrux and a book by Mutrux and Colin Escott, the musical tells the story of a fictional jam session between Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley. Million Dollar Quartet will run March 15-24, 2024 at the Kavli Theatre.

Next, 5-Star will present The Sound of Music, the beloved classic based on the true story of the Von Trapp Family Singers. The musical follows Maria Rainer, who becomes a governess to the seven children of a widowed naval commander in Austria, just as the Nazi party is coming into power. Featuring music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, the production will run July 19-28, 2024 at the Kavli Theatre.

Last in the 2024 season is 5-Star's production of Little Shop of Horrors, featuring music by Alan Menken and a book and lyrics by Howard Ashman. The sci-fi musical follows Seymour Krelborn, a nerdy floral shop employee who happens upon a strange plant with otherworldly powers. Little Shop of Horrors will run October 4-20, 2024 at the Scherr Forum Theatre.
