The award-winning film featured numerous songs by George Gershwin, including "I Got Rhythm," performed here by Gene Kelly.

The musical romantic comedy, directed by Vincente Minnelli and starring Leslie Caron, Maurice Chevalier, Louis Jourdan and Hermione Gingold, featured the popular song "Thank Heaven for Little Girls."

"West Side Story"

A modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the film adaptation of the award-winning musical starred Natalie Wood and featured now-famous dancing sequences on the streets of New York City.

Starring Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison, the film told the story of a professor who bets he can transform a flower girl into a proper English lady.

"The Sound of Music"

The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer as an Austrian nun and a widowed captain with seven children.

"Oliver!"

The British musical drama, based on Charles Dickens' novel "Oliver Twist," told the story of an orphan boy in 1830s England and featured the songs "I'd Do Anything," "Who Will Buy?," "As Long As He Needs Me" and "Food Glorious Food."

"Chicago"

The 2002 film adaptation of the Kander and Ebb musical, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renée Zellweger, was the first movie musical since 1968's "Oliver!" to win the Best Picture Oscar.
