News The Screening Room: 2015 Tony-Nominated Best Leading Actress in a Musical, The Visit's Chita Rivera Two-time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera has been nominated for her performance in The Visit, the haunting new Kander and Ebb musical about revenge and romance. Rivera is a Tony Award winner for her performances in The Rink and Kiss of the Spider Woman. She has been nominated for her performances in Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, Bring Back Birdie, Merlin, Jerry's Girls, Nine, Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life and The Visit. She has also been seen on Broadway in Can-Can, Seventh Heaven, Mr. Wonderful, Shinbone Alley and West Side Story, among others. Rivera is also a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient and the first Latina woman to receive a Kennedy Center Honors Award.
