The stage adaptation of the DreamWorks animated feature The Prince of Egypt, featuring a score by Wicked and Pippin composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz, will receive a private London reading this week.

The musical had its world premiere in 2017. The reading reflects revisions to the material, including new songs. The Prince of Egypt has a book by Philip LaZebnik and direction by Scott Schwartz (The Hunchback of Notre Dame).

The 1998 film includes such songs as the Oscar-winning “When You Believe,” “Deliver Us,” “All I Ever Wanted,” and “Through Heaven’s Eyes.”

Casting has not been revealed. The reading is produced by DreamWorks Theatricals, Michael McCabe and Neil Laidlaw.
