The York Theatre Company is set to present two developmental readings of new musical The Pin-Up Girls May 20. Readings will be held at 3 and 6:30 PM at Pearl Studios, and are presented as part of The York Theatre Company’s Developmental Reading Series, in association with CAB Productions.
The Pin-Up Girls features a book and lyrics by James Hindman and music by Jeffrey Lodin. Tony nominee Kerry Butler (Beetlejuice) will direct, with music direction by Lodin.
The cast will feature Sara Glancy (The Civil War), Jillian Louis (Bordello, Gina Milo (Les Misérables), and Barrett Riggins (Harmony).
The Pin-Up Girls follows a group of singers at a local VFW hall who discover a cache of wartime letters stretching back over a century. Inspired by what they've found, the women decide to put on a show that celebrates those who've fought for America and the music that has kept them going.
Admission is free, and those interested can RSVP to [email protected].
