The music of the night will be performed across the globe once more this summer, with the return of The Phantom of the Opera's international tour. Put on pause at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tour opened in The Philippines in 2019 before heading to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Israel, UAE, and South Korea. It will now reopen in Shenzhen, China July 2.
Jonathan Roxmouth will return to the titular role, alongside Matt Leisy reprising his role as Raoul. Further casting will be announced at a later date.
Following its opening in Shenzhen, the tour will visit Shanghai, Xi’an, Suzhou, Chengdu, and Beijing with an additional city to be announced. Further international stops will be announced in time.
Featuring 130 cast, crew, and orchestra members, the replica tour will include Phantom's original design by Maria Björnson. The Broadway production was the last-standing original production performed in English prior to its closing in April 2023.

The Phantom of the Opera has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe), and a book by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber. The production also features direction by Harold Prince, and musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne.
The Broadway staging of the London-originated show won seven 1988 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The Phantom of the Opera became the longest-running show in Broadway history January 9, 2006, when it surpassed the nearly 18-year run of Cats. The production’s nearly 14,000 performances have been seen by 19.5 million people and grossed $1.3 billion. The Phantom of the Opera has been seen by an estimated 160 million people in 46 territories and 193 cities in 21 languages worldwide.
