A decade after its run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, the original Broadway cast of Hands on a Hardbody will reunite for a 10th anniversary reunion concert staged at 54 Below June 6.
Inspired by the 1997 documentary of the same name about a group of Texans competing for a pickup truck, the musical opened March 21, 2013. The show played its last performance April 13, 2013. Despite a short run, it earned 3 Tony nominations and a quick cult following of fans.
Joining the reunion concert will be Allison Case, Kristoffer Cusick, Sam Gravitte, David Larsen, Tamika Lawrence, Kathleen Monteleone, Mary Gordon Murray, Jim Newman, Connie Ray, Jon Rua, Bart Shatto, Dale Soules, Jacob Ming-Trent, and Scott Wakefield, with more to be announced. The concert will be hosted by Amanda Green, and is produced by Green alongside Doug Wright.
The original Broadway cast also featured Keith Carradine, Hunter Foster, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Keala Settle, and William Youmans.
Composed by Trey Anastasio and Amanda Green, the musical features a book by Doug Wright, and was directed by Neil Pepe.
The concert will run for two performances only, at 7:30 and 9:00 PM. For tickets and more information, visit 54Below.com.
