Broadway News The Little Prince Delays Broadway Start

The stage adaptation of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry novella hits the Main Stem following runs in Paris, Sydney, and Dubai.

Broadway's upcoming The Little Prince has announced new dates, with performances now set to begin March 29 ahead of an April 11 opening night. The production had previously been announced to begin March 4 and open March 17. The work will play The Broadway Theatre following runs in Paris, Sydney, and Dubai.

Directed and choreographed by Anne Tournié, The Little Prince has a libretto adapted from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's classic novella by co-director Chris Mouron and original music by Terry Truck.

Newly announced in the cast are Marie Menuge as The Drunkard, replacing the previously announced Andre Kamienski; Joän Bertrand as The King; and Christian Denice in the ensemble. They join an international company that includes Lionel Zalachas in the title role with Aurélien Bednarek as The Aviator, Chris Mouron as The Narrator, Laurisse Sulty as The Rose, Adrien Picaut as The Businessman/The Switchman, Antony Cesar as The Vain Man, Marcin Janiak as The Lamplighter, Srilata Ray as The Snake, and Dylan Barone as The Fox, with ensemble members George Sanders and William John Banks. Madison Ward and Jayesh Palande are acrobatic swings.

The production, which promises spectacle, dance, aerial acrobatics, and video mapping technology, also features video design by Marie Jumelin, costumes by Peggy Housset, lighting by Stéphane Fritsch, sound design by Tristan Viscogliosi, video projection by Etienne Beaussart, hair and makeup by Carmen Arbues Miro, and props by Aurélie Gandilhon. Noellie Bordelet serves as assistant choreographer.

The Little Prince is presented on Broadway by special arrangement with Rick Cummins and the estate of John Scoullar.
