Well, what do we call it?... Timing? The unfortunate confluence of the tragedy in Florida on the very morning of the 70th Annual Tony Awards ceremony rocked the entertainment world to its core. There were even rumors that somehow the event might be postponed, but, of course, the resilience of the arts and the artists that practice them can never be underestimated.

Lupita Nyong’o looked lovely as usual in her off the shoulder gown by Hugo Boss. She always seems to get her fashion choices just right with that sunny color and silhouette! …and the micro-floral print was right on-trend, especially with Summer on its way!
Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s ball gown by Zuhair Murad!! Reminding us of the New Look of the 1950s, but confettied with multi-colored stars and sequins over a nude bodice and continuing on down over the luxurious black skirt! Folks gasped as she passed!

Nicolette Robinson and Leslie Odom, Jr. …. The glamour couple! She in a barely-there white top over a pleated sapphire bell-skirt by Christian Siriano. This is the color-block trend at its best! And him in his shiny tux tailored to a “T”. Definitely handsome enough to stride onstage to a room full of applause!

Allison Williams really broke the mold in her on-trend white tuxxy-jumpsuit by custom DKNY! No gown for her! She was chic! Chic! CHIC!..and we loved the asymmetrical tailoring that made it so-surprising!
Saoirse Ronan was innocence and simplicity itself in her Stella McCartney blush tone, but the little triangle cut-out at the midriff gave it a hint of sin!... the Jennifer Fisher jewels were a lovely accessory, and her hair and make-up completed the look perfectly!

Krysta Rodriguez in a so-sophisticated black and white ensemble. The hint of a tied almost sarong effect at the waist as the only detail! So minimal, so understated…and SO MODERN! Yes!!!!
Danai Gurira in the simplest and most minimal silk satin ray of sunshine by Rosie Assoulin! We loved the jagged little cutout at the bust and the asymmetrical hem. She literally shone as she passed!

Laura Benanti in an Oscar de la Renta floral long sleeve…. Love the fuchsia and dark purple embroidered lace-over-lace on her fabulous figure! Laura always gets it right!!!
Jennifer Simard in Eliza J…. Loved the deep green! Love the sparkling embellishment on the collar! Beautiful choices! A perfect merging of palette and silhouette! A++++++
Jeff Mahshie in a Thom Browne tux. Classic and classy! This is how the professionals do it!
James Corden looked just “capital” as the host! ….comedy and class all the way. Every tux change looked amazing and was tailored perfectly for his “curvy-guy” physique! The detail and embellishments on his clothes were pure-star-quality! …and his beautiful wife Julia Carey was the perfect arm-candy in her light as a feather floral gown. They strode into the Beacon Theatre at the start of the evening with big smiles and lots of happy expectation… A peck on the cheek, and she sent her man onto the stage where he triumphed!.... #andScene!
