"Every woman and man who has been invisible, who has felt unseen and unvalued, this is their story," says Oprah Winfrey in a featurette for the upcoming screen version of Broadway's The Color Purple, set to release in movie theatres December 25. Get a closer look at some of the film's musical numbers in the featurette above.
Winfrey is producing the upcoming release, the latest in a long connection with the property. Winfrey is producing the upcoming movie musical adaptation alongside Scott Sanders, lead producer of both of the musical's Broadway outings.
Tickets for the December 25 release went on sale November 1 via Fandango. Moviegoers are also being encouraged to gift a ticket to family and friends with Color Purple-themed digital and physical gift cards available at Fandango.com.
