For episode four of The Broadway Cast, Playbill welcomes actors Corey Cott, Derek Klena, and Jelani Remy. The leading men open up about how they got their start and what motivated them, the first show they ever saw, their favorite cast albums, and that moment when they realized theatre would be their life.
Cott currently plays the role of Donny on Broadway in the new musical Bandstand, and has starred in the musicals Gigi and Newsies. Klena plays Dmitry in Anastasia on Broadway and has starred in Wicked and The Bridges of Madison County. Remy made his Broadway debut as Simba in The Lion King, and has toured the country in High School Musical and High School Musical 2.
Listen to episode four below, and find out why Klena dreams of Phantom, how one missed audition changed Remy’s life, and why Wicked left such an impression on a young Cott.
Each episode, hosted by Broadway vet Ben Cameron (Wicked, Aida), features a mix of guests who make Broadway what it is: the stars, the creatives, the notable movers and shakers, and more.
In addition to in-studio guests, The Broadway Cast invites fans and theatre pros from around the world to call in and participate—to chat dream casting, industry trends, news, and everything in between.
