The Broadway League and Broadway Podcast Network have launched The Black Business of Broadway, a bi-monthly podcast focused on Black Broadway professionals. The podcast will be available through the Broadway Podcast Network and anywhere else you listen to podcasts.

Host Gennean Scott, director of equity, diversity, and inclusion at The Broadway League, will speak with Black administrators, producers, directors, managers, creatives, and artists to highlight their stories, methods, and successes.

Guests in initial episodes currently includes producer Brian Moreland (Thoughts of a Colored Man), SpotCo Chief Operating Officer Aaliytha Stevens, stage manager/producer Cody Renard Richard (Freestyle Love Supreme), general manager Nzinga Williams, League Road Vice Chair Colleen Jennings-Roggensack, and Tony Award-honored press agent and producer Irene Gandy.

Guests will also provide insights into where the industry is headed and will offer advice for the next generation. “By spotlighting the stories of Black Broadway professionals, we will chip away at unconscious bias and illuminate the many non-performance career paths in the Broadway industry, both in New York City and on the road," says Scott.

Broadway Podcast Network also offers Off Book: The Black Theatre Podcast hosted by Drew Shade, Kim Exum, and Ngozi Anyanwu, which spotlights Black theatre artists.
