You can't escape the paparazzi forever. Photos have been released of the new cast of Broadway's Stereophonic, who stepped into the Tony-winning play October 1. Get a look at the new crew in the gallery below.
Amy Forsyth joined the show succeeding Sarah Pidgeon as Diana, and Rebecca Naomi Jones joined as Holly, succeeding Juliana Canfield. Current cast member Benjamin Anthony Anderson, who previously served as an understudy, succeeded Tom Pecinka in the role of Peter. Emilie Kouatchou and Denver Milord have joined the show as understudies.
They join original cast members Tony winner Will Brill, Chris Stack, Eli Gelb, and Andrew R. Butler. The show's other understudies are Cornelius McMoyler, Sofia Deler, and Lily Ganser. Casting is by Alaine Alldaffer and Taylor Williams.
The Tony-winning play has extended through January 12, 2025. Written by David Adjmi, Stereophonic follows an unnamed '70s rock band recording their sophomore album. It features original music by Will Butler, formerly of the band Arcade Fire. The show made history at the Tony Awards as the play with the most Tony nominations ever (including acting noms for departed cast members Canfield, Pecinka, and Pidgeon).
The show eventually won five Tony Awards: Best Play, Direction of a Play (Daniel Aukin), Featured Actor (Will Brill), Sound Design (Ryan Rumery), and Scenic Design (David Zinn).
The show is directed by Daniel Aukin, and the creative team also features costume designer Enver Chakartash, lighting designer Jiyoun Chang, sound designer Ryan Rumery, music director Justin Craig, and vocal coach Gigi Buffington.
The Broadway run is produced by Sue Wagner, John Johnson, Seaview, Sonia Friedman Productions, Linden Productions, and Ashley Melone & Nick Mills. Stereophonic originally premiered in late 2023 at Playwrights Horizons Off-Broadway before selling out and quickly transferring to Broadway.
