Canada's Stratford Festival has unveiled its 2019 lineup, with production dates and casting to be announced in the future. The programming includes Billy Elliot the Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, Shakespeare's Othello and Henry VIII, Arthur Miller's The Crucible, and the world premiere of Kate Hennig's Mother's Daughter.

The festival will open with Othello, directed by Nigel Shawn Williams, who returns after his currently running production of To Kill a Mockingbird. Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino will direct the second Shakespeare production, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Martha Henry will direct Henry VIII.

Stratford's musical offerings will be Lee Hall and Elton John's Billy Elliot, and Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's Little Shop. Both musicals will be directed and choreographed by festival alum Donna Feore.

Other productions include Wajdi Mouawad's Birds of a Kind, translated by Linda Gaboriau and directed by Cimolino; The Crucible, helmed by Jonathan Goad; Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's The Man Who Came to Dinner, directed by Graham Abbey; Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's Nathan the Wise in a version by Edward Kemp with direction by Birgit Schreyer Duarte; Noël Coward's Private Lives, directed by Carey Perloff; and The Neverending Story by Michael Ende, adapted for the stage by David S. Craig and directed by Jillian Keiley.

Playwright and actor Hennig will complete her Queenmaker Trilogy, commissioned by the festival, with Mother's Daugther, to be directed by Alan Dilworth.
