Playbill Universe See Sarah Brightman Get a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The singing sensation was the original Christine Daaé on Broadway and in London's West End.

Singing sensation and Broadway alum Sarah Brightman, best known to theatre fans for creating the role of Christine Daaé in the original West End and Broadway productions of The Phantom of the Opera, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame October 6. Watch the stage favorite receive the honor above.

On hand to speak at the unveiling were fellow theatrical soprano Kristin Chenoweth; Broadway's current Christine Daaé, Emilie Kouatchou; and choreographer Anthony Van Laast.

Fans wishing to visit Brightman's star can head to 6243 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood.

"British import and singing superstar Sarah Brightman has the voice of an angel," shares Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez. "She has been entertaining the world with her unique voice for many years, and we are thrilled to add her name to our iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. In celebration of an amazing career in theatre, we thought it would be fitting to place Sarah’s star in front of another icon, Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre."

Along with starring in The Phantom of the Opera, Brightman appeared on Broadway in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects of Love, and in London's West End in the original company of Cats and in the original run of Song and Dance. In the years since her stage work, Brightman has mostly focused on concert performances, with chart-topping album releases including EdenLa LunaHaremSymphonyDreamchaser, and Hymn. Brightman is set to play a three-night Las Vegas residency at The Venetian Resort this month with a Christmas tour of Japan and Southeast Asia to follow.
