"Scandal" Star Jeff Perry Will Direct A Steady Rain at the Guthrie; Casting Announced | Playbill

News "Scandal" Star Jeff Perry Will Direct A Steady Rain at the Guthrie; Casting Announced Casting has been announced for the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble production of A Steady Rain, which will play the Guthrie Theater's Dowling Studio Oct. 14-Nov. 2.

Directed by Steppenwolf co-founder and "Scandal" star Jeff Perry, Keith Huff's duologue will feature Thomas Vincent Kelly and Sal Viscuso as Chicago policemen Joey and Denny, respectively.

"Joey and Denny have been best friends since kindergarten," according to press notes, "and after working together for several years as policemen in Chicago, they are practically family: Joey helps out with Denny's wife and kids; Denny keeps Joey away from the bottle. But when a domestic disturbance call takes a turn for the worse, their friendship is put on the line. The result is a harrowing journey into a moral gray area where trust and loyalty struggle for survival against a sobering backdrop."

Thomas Vincent Kelly appeared as Bastion Mole in the critically acclaimed West Coast premiere of Mr. Kolpert at the Odyssey Theatre. Kelly played Mikey Dillon in Good People at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta and was also seen in Los Angeles as Sanford Mitchell in the world premiere of Bedfellows for the New American Theatre. His film and TV credits include guest star and recurring roles on "Criminal Minds," "Law & Order LA," "The Closer," "Saving Grace," "24," "Jag" and many others.

Sal Viscuso most recently portrayed Russ in Clybourne Park at Portland Center Stage. On the series "Soap" his role as vocationally challenged Father Flotsky drew national controversy. Viscusco has been seen on "The Mentalist," "Castle" and "Law and Order: SVU."

The artistic team includes Jeff Perry (director), Adam Flemming (set designer), Michael Gend (lighting designer), John Zalewski (sound designer), Rachel Clinkscales (costume designer), Deidra Edwards (assistant director) and Alexandra Gowdy-Jaehnig (stage manager).
