News Rita Rudner and Charles Shaughnessy Star in U.S. Premiere of Act 3 Comedienne and actress Rita Rudner joins Emmy winner Charles Shaughnessy as co-stars of the U.S. premiere of the play Act 3..., which begins previews Jan. 6 at Laguna Playhouse in California.

Rudner, who appeared in the original runs of Broadway classics Follies, Annie, Mack & Mabel and Promises, Promises, also has a long career as a standup comic. Shaughnessy played Maxwell Sheffield on the TV series "The Nanny."

David Ambrose and Claudia Nellens are co-authors of the two-hander about long-married spouses in the "third act" of their lives, which was performed previously in Paris in 2011. The production is directed by Rudner's own real-life spouse, Martin Bergman.

The limited run continues through Jan. 31.
