The reviews are rolling in for Liza Birkenmeier's Grief Hotel, which officially opened its NYC return run in residence with The Public Theater March 27. The limited engagement, presented by Clubbed Thumb in partnership with New Georges, is directed by Tara Ahmadinejad.

Previews began March 20 at The Public's Shiva Theater, where it is set to run through April 20. The cast includes Nadine Malouf as Em, Ana Nogueira as Winn, Naren Weiss as Rohit, Obie Award winner Susannah Perkins as Teresa, Susan Blommaert as Aunt Bobbi, and Bruce McKenzie as Asher.

The work exploring grief premiered as part of the 2023 Summerworks festival of new plays, which earned Birkenmeier and Ahmadinejad a special citation from the Obie Awards for the production, as well as an Obie Award for Sustained Excellence to design team dots.

Grief Hotel features scenic design by dots, costume design by Mel Ng, lighting design by Masha Tsimring, and sound design and composition by Jordan McCree.
