Second Stage Theater's production of Jen Silverman's Spain officially opened Off-Broadway at the Tony Kiser Theater November 30, and the reviews are in. The play began previews November 8.
Directed by Tyne Rafaeli, the company includes Tony winner Andrew Burnap, Tony nominee Marin Ireland (Reasons to Be Pretty, Sneaky Pete), Zachary James (Addams Family, South Pacific), Erik Lochtefeld (Metamorphoses, King Kong), and Danny Wolohan (Camelot, Macbeth).
Spain is set in 1936, when a pair of passionate filmmakers land their next big project: a sweeping Spanish Civil War film with the potential to change American hearts and minds. Only one hangup: it just happens to be bankrolled by the KGB.
