Playbill Celebrates Broadway's February Birthdays

What do Broadway's President Lincoln and two Old Friends have in common? They were all born in the month of February!

Despite being the shortest month of the year, February boasts an incredible number of Broadway birthdays. From casting directors to choreographers, actors who transitioned from stage to screen or screen to stage, here is a list of some of the artists celebrating their birthday in February. February 2 is a double-billing, with Marissa Jaret Winokur (Hairspray), and Eden Espinosa (Lempicka) celebrating.

Nathan Lane (The Producers), Ashley Brown (Elf), and Ann Harada (Into the Woods) all share a February 3 birthday.

On February 4, many thoughts will be turned to Jason Veasey (A Strange Loop).

Helperbot Darren Criss (Maybe Happy Ending), Jason Gotay (Bring it On The Musical), and Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice) will all celebrate their birthdays on the 5th of the month.

Kathy Najimy (Broadway's Dirty Blonde, and one of our beloved Hocus Pocus Sanderson sisters) puts a spell on February 6, claiming it all her own.

"Sweets to the sweet" Eddie Izzard on February 7 as she celebrates her birthday. This is also a special day for producer and theatre executive Jack Viertel (Cabaret).

Suddenly, it's Sherie Rene Scott (Off-Broadway's Little Shop of Horrors) and casting director Bernard "Bernie" Telsey's (whose work keeps Broadway favorites gilded) birthday on February 8.

Beautiful composer-lyricist, Carole King, and performers Mia Farrow (The Roommate), Tom Hiddleston (Betrayal), and Montego Glover (Into the Woods) were all born February 9.

Director Kenny Leon (who is directing Othello this spring), and Uzo Aduba (most recently seen in Clyde's), share a February 10 birthday.

February 16 is a day to give flowers to Kara Lindsay (Once Upon a Mattress) and Hailey Kilgore (currently playing Eurydice in Hadestown).

Hail to the chief! Oh, Mary's President Lincoln Conrad Ricamora celebrates his birthday February 17.

Christopher Sieber (currently on Broadway in Death Becomes Her) is in good Company since he is sharing a birthday with Susan Ega (Thoroughly Modern Millie) February 18.

We need to wish playwright Theresa Rebeck (I Need That) a happy birthday on February 19.

Wishing a Beautiful February 20 to performer Jessie Mueller as she celebrates her birthday.

February 21 is a big day for birthdays, with Christine Ebersole (War Paint), Tyne Daly (Gypsy), Andréa Burns (In the Heights), Corbin Bleu (Kiss Me Kate), and Tituss Burgess (The Little Mermaid) all blowing out candles.

Performers Ellen Greene (Little Shop of Horrors), Lea Salonga (soon-to-be-seen on Broadway in Old Friends), and Celia Rose Gooding (Jagged Little Pill) share a February 22 birthday.

The Book of Mormon isn't all that performer Josh Gad and book-writer/composer/lyricist Robert Lopez have in common! They also celebrate their birthday on the same day, February 23.

Santa! We know Sean Astin (Elf) celebrates his birthday on February 25.

Priscilla Lopez (In the Heights) turns another year older on February 26.

We will all sing "Happy Birthday" to Josh Groban (Sweeney Todd), Heléne Yorke (American Psycho), and Debra Monk (Company) on February 27.

On February 28, our finale for this month, Sondheim muse Bernadette Peters (soon to return to Broadway in Old Friends) celebrates her birthday alongside William Finn (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Seth Rudetsky (Disaster!), Tommy Tune (Nine), Mercedes Ruehl (Torch Song), and Robert Sean Leonard (Sunday in the Park with George).
