The Broadway League and the Museum of Broadway kicked off the launch of ¡VIVA! BROADWAY: ayer, hoy y mañana—the Museum's new exhibit celebrating Latiné and Hispanic heritage on Broadway—with a festive party September 15.
The exhibit, created for The Museum of Broadway in partnership with The Broadway
League and with support from the Miranda Family Fund, runs
through October 15 and
features artifacts as well as costumes worn by Chita Rivera, Raúl Juliá, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ariana DeBose, and more.
The launch event featured hosts and speakers Luis A. Miranda, Jr.; Kristin Caskey; and Julie Boardman plus performances by Joy Huerta (from the upcoming Real Women Have Curves) and Natalie Belcon and David Oquendo (from the upcoming Buena Vista Social Club).
Next year, Carnegie Hall's house band will perform Bernstein’s “Kaddish” Symphony, unfinished works by Schubert, and the final concert of Conductor Bernard Labadie.
