England's Watermill Theatre is host to a new revival of Cy Coleman, Michael Stewart, and Mark Bramble's Barnum, and Playbill has the pictures to prove it!
Running through September 8, the P.T. Barnum musical is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle (Cruel Intentions: The 90s Musical, The Last Five Years) and choreographed by Oti Mabuse.
Featuring an ensemble of actor-musicians and circus performers, the production stars Matt Rawle (Father Brown, Evita) as P.T. Barnum, Monique Young (Sondheim’s Old Friends, Mary Poppins) as Charity Barnum, and Penny Ashmore (Ride of the Valkyries, Die Walküre) as Jenny Lind.
They are joined by Fergus Rattigan (The Sovereign) as General Tom Thumb, Tania Mathurin (The Witches, Mary Poppins) as Joice Heth, Josh Barnett (Cruel Intentions, Newsies) as James Bailey, and Tom Sterling (The Third Man, The Phantom Of The Opera) as Edgar Templeton.
The production is supported by ensemble members Emma Jane Morton, Tom Sowinski, Jessica Jolleys, Charis Alexandra, and Elena Bluck. The onstage swings include Kaine Hatukai and Laura Sillett, and circus performers include Kiera Brunton, Emily Odunsi, Dan Holland, and Andre Rodrigues.
Located a little over an hour from London, Watermill Theatre was named Theatre of the Year at 2024's The Stage Awards, an honor the company shared with London's National Theatre.
