Directed by Joe Calarco, with choreography by Lorin Latarro, the production stars Elizabeth Stanley (Company) as Lili Vanessi/Kate, Paul Anthony Stewart (The People in the Picture, Fiddler on the Roof) as Fred Graham/Petruchio, Mara Davi (A Chorus Line) as Lois Lane/Bianca, Tyler Hanes (A Chorus Line) as Bill Calhoun/Lucentio, Nyla Watson as Hattie, Matthew Bauman as Paul, Carlos Lopez as Gangster #1 and Michael Dean Morgan as Gangster #2.
Rounding out the cast are Roger DeWitt, Fred Inkley, KC Fredericks, Calvin Cooper, Joel Robertson, Brittany Bohn, Jennifer Evans, Adrienne Howard, Jakob Karr, Amanda La Motte, Robin Lounsbury, Kyle Pressley and BSC's musical theatre apprentices Matthew Gregory, Gabriel Kadian, Jordana McMahon, Brian Sandstrom and Ross Yoder. Performances continue through July 12 on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage in Pittsfield, MA.
Taking its inspiration from Shakespeare, Kiss Me, Kate, according to BSC, "recounts the backstage and onstage antics of two feuding couples during a touring musical production of The Taming of the Shrew. Sparkling with 18 classic Cole Porter songs, Kiss Me, Kate includes 'Another Op'nin', Another Show,' 'So in Love,' 'Always True to You in My Fashion,' 'Too Darn Hot' and 'Brush Up Your Shakespeare.'"
Other members of the creative team include music director Darren R. Cohen, production stage manager Renee Lutz, set designer James Krozner, costume designer Amy Clark, lighting designer Jason Lyons and sound designer Ed Chapman.
