Paper Mill Playhouse is launching the Broadway-bound production of the Porter classic with producing partner Jonathan Burrows. The musical features a book by Abe Burrows and a re-crafted script by Joel Fields. Can-Can’s score includes “I Love Paris,” “C’est Magnifique,” “It’s All Right With Me” and more.
The musical, according to Paper Mill, is described as such: "Pistache, a Parisian café owner, decides to feature the scandalous dance the Can-Can, but will her defiance of the law end her business and her love life?"
The creative team also includes music director/conductor/arranger/orchestrator Steve Orich, scenic designer Rob Bissinger, costume designer Ann Hould-Ward, lighting designer Michael Gilliam, sound designer Randy Hansen, hair, wig and makeup designers Rob Greene and J. Jared Janas, fight director Tim Weske, Tara Rubin Casting (casting) and production stage manager Gary Mickelson.
