Pasadena Playhouse has announced details of its 2018–2019 season, which will open with Karen Zacarias’ comedy Native Gardens. Tony Award winner Jason Alexander will direct the September 5–30 run of the acclaimed play about a dispute over a backyard fence that raises issues of class, taste, and entitlement.

The theatrical ghost story The Woman in Black, by Susan Hill and adapted by Stephen Mallatratt, will run October 17–November 11, under the direction of Robin Herford. The Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime, featuring a book by Terrence McNally and a score by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, will run February 6–March 3, 2019, under the direction of David Lee.

Also planned is Nia Vardalos’ stage adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s Tiny Beautiful Things, which will run in spring 2019, with specific dates to be announced. An additional spring production will also be revealed shortly.

These productions join the previously announced Bordertown (May 30–June 24, 2018) and the family-friendly presentation of Jungle Book (July 17–29).
