Lucifer, the new musical spearheaded by Mike Squillante (NBC’s The Voice), will receive another New York City industry presentation, with a slate of new creative team members.
Featuring music and lyrics by Squillante and Britt Mahrer, Lucifer has a book by Jesse Murphy, Jess Carson, and Squillante. Previous collaborators, songwriter Michael Mott and book writer Corey Skaggs, have departed the project since its last incarnation, which was presented in 2015.
T. Oliver Reid will direct the May 23-24 presentations.
The latest presentation will feature cast members Nicolas Dromard as God, Natalie Hall as Mags, Marty Lawson as Mike, J. Cameron Barnett as Gabby, Mike Squillante as Lou, and Sam Wolf as Jay.
Reid will direct, with arrangements by Adria Barbosa.
Lucifer, according to the creators, “is the story of the Bible according to the Devil. Leading the Creation process at the beginning of time, God's favorite angel is set on achieving glory. An unparalleled obsession takes hold, leading ‘Lou’ down an iconic path towards his own personal Hell.”
David Elliott and Martin Platt of Perry Street Theatricals general manage with Matthew Lefferts at FWRV (Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell & Vassallo) handling legal. Executive producers on Lucifer include Gylden Entertainment, Mary & Dick Meisterling and James Raby, with minority partners Amy Hassinger, BlackNBlu, Kendrick Li & Ron J. Rock.
A portion of funds raised for this production will be donated by TopRat to the All Stars Project, Inc., a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to transform the lives of youth and poor communities.
