The New York Public Library will present a number of theatre-related events and exhibitions at various locations throughout the city. Speakers featured in the lineup include director Ruben Santiago-Hudson, playwright Chisa Hutchinson, Feinstein’s/54 Below’s Jennifer Ashley Tepper, composer Michael John LaChiusa, and, Jeff Hamlin, the stage manager for the original production of A Chorus Line.
Currently on offer at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts are Curtain Up: Celebrating the Last 40 Years of Theatre in New York and London—an exhibit that celebrates the shows, stars, creatives, and designs that have won both of the theatre’s most coveted awards: a Tony Award and an Olivier Award—and David Gordon: Archiveography - Under Construction, an installation created by writer, director, and choreographer Gordon. The latter features four video projections and images from his history and personal life; it runs through April 6.
Next year, Carnegie Hall's house band will perform Bernstein’s “Kaddish” Symphony, unfinished works by Schubert, and the final concert of Conductor Bernard Labadie.
