Beginning January 22, Film Forum will present a series that highlights films starring, written, and/or directed by the great Elaine May.
The series begins with Enter Laughing on January 22 with two screenings. Directed by Carl Reiner (and based on his autobiographical play of the same name), the film has never been released on DVD or BluRay. The Heartbreak Kid, directed by May, will also be screened that same evening.
On January 29, Film Forum will offer screenings of A New Leaf and Mikey and Nicky; an encore screening of The Heartbreak Kid takes place January 31. The Birdcage and Heaven Can Wait (both written by May) hit the screen February 5, and the series ends February 12 with a screening of Ishtar.
