A new vampire-themed musical titled Bran Castle is holding NYC industry presentations this week, with performances planned for September 19 and 20 following a developmental workshop. Both performances are invite only.
The new work features a book, music, and lyrics by Donald Nolan, following a young Roma slave as she gets caught between efforts to free her people and the power of a vampire seductress. JoAnn M. Hunter (Bad Cinderella) is directing and choreographing.
The cast features John Riddle (The Phantom of the Opera) as Count Vladimir, Lenka Z (The Voice) as Mirela, Jennifer Sánchez (Pretty Woman) as Carmilla, Aléna Watters (Bad Cinderella) as Vadoma, Bryan Fenkart (Memphis) as Beaublair, and Kelvin Moon Loh (Beetlejuice) as Franco. Also in the company are Mike Baerga, Natalia Ballenger, Erica Simone Barnett, Tom Galantich, Jaquez, Justin Luciano, Michael Milkanin, Lily Rose, Anne Fraser Thomas, and Minami Yusui. Casting is by Geoff Josselson.
Nate Patten is music directing, with arrangements by Sam Davis and orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke.
Que Sera Sera Productions and Mary Maggio are producing, with RCI Theatricals handling general management.
