Most of the Emmy Awards have not yet been announced or handed out—Creative Arts categories will be presented September 3–4, with the main ceremony set for September 12—but NBC's Annie Live! is among the winners of a few juried categories whose winners were announced August 11.

Department Head Hairstylist Mia M. Neal and Assistant Department Head Hairstylist Leah Loukas, both also Broadway alum, won in the Outstanding Hairstyling for a Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Program category. Neal and Loukas will be presented with the honor at the Creative Arts ceremony.

Choreographer Sergio Trujillo is also Emmy nominated for his work on the special.

The live TV production of the 1977 Broadway musical aired on NBC December 2, 2021. Based on the Depression-era newspaper comic and featuring a score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin and a book by Thomas Meehan, the musical centers on its plucky title character and her journey from orphanage to the opulent Warbucks mansion.

Celina Smith starred in the title role, with Taraji P. Henson as Miss Hannigan, Harry Connick, Jr. as Daddy Warbucks, Nicole Scherzinger as Grace, Tituss Burgess as Rooster, Megan Hilty as Lily St. Regis, and Alan Toy as FDR.

Lear deBessonet and Alex Rudzinski shared directing duties, with choreography by Trujillo, costumes by Emilio Sosa, production design by Jason Sherwood, and orchestrations by Stephen Oremus.

The special was executive produced by Robert Greenblatt, Neil Meron, and Alex Rudzinsky with Chloe Productions as producer.
