The sold-out event, according to press notes, explores "how his message and vision continue to resonate in today's racial, social and political landscape."
The special event features historic speeches performed by Harry Belafonte, Chris Rock, Octavia Spencer, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Anika Noni Rose, Andre Holland, Condola Rashad and Adepero Oduye.
Musical performances will be offered by Rose, Bilal, Saul Williams and India Arie.
MLK Now will conclude with an interactive panel discussion "addressing the most pressing human rights issues of today – including police violence, racial and social injustice, economic inequality, the prison industrial complex and grassroots and political mobilization." Panelists include Ryan Coogler, J. Cole, Rahiel Tesfamariam, Linda Sarsour, Dante Barry, Gina Belafonte and Leon Ford, Jr. The panel will be moderated by MSNBC's Trymaine Lee.
