London's Other Palace will present workshop performances of the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical revue, Unmasked, November 29–December 1.
Unmasked—which features some of Lloyd Webber’s best-known tunes and the stories behind their creation, along with new music and memories from his life and career—had been scheduled to open the Paper Mill Playhouse's 2018-2019 season under the direction of Tony winner John Doyle. The New Jersey staging was subsequently canceled due to "unforeseen scheduling conflicts.”
Written with Richard Curtis and directed by Laurence Connor, the workshop production of Unmasked will feature Siobhan Dillon, Tyrone Huntley, Rosanna Hyland, Ria Jones, Stephen Leask, Anna O’Byrne, and Michael Xavier, who made his Broadway debut opposite Glenn Close in the recent revival of Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard.
The play comes on the heels of a broader cultural conversation about Dahl's work and the prejudice that was embedded in many of his most beloved stories.
