Mauricio Martínez and Shereen Pimentel

A host of theatre artists are part of Jaime Lozano's Songs by an Immigrant April 6 at 8 PM at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post on Long Island.

"The Familia" includes Mauricio Martínez (On Your Feet!), Shereen Pimentel (West Side Story), and Mayelah Barrera as well as students from Long Island University's Theatre Arts Department. The performers will be backed by a nine-piece orchestra.

In Songs by an Immigrant Lozano explores the challenges of the first- and second-generation middle class U.S. immigrant experience: finding a new home, learning a new language, dealing with discrimination, pursuing the American Dream, and searching for ways to build bridges instead of walls.
