The plays showcased October 21 will include Trifles by Susan Glaspell (The Verge), Florence by Alice Childress (Wine in the Wilderness), and Soldadera by Josefina Niggli (Cry of Hidalgo). The evening will be directed by Cristina Angeles (¡GÁRGOLA!).

The cast of Trifles will include Lori Vega (Pretty Little Liars), Javier David (Witch), Luis Vega (Buena Vista Social Club), Jamie Ann Romero (Dracula), and Camila Canó-Flaviá (Dance Nation).

The cast of Florence will include Vega, Ciara Monique (Flex), Romero, and Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk Award winner Francis Benhamou (Prayer for the French Republic).

The cast of Soldadera will include Vega, Monique, Alma Cuervo (A Man of No Importance), Javier David (Witch), Luis Vega, Romero, Canó-Flaviá, Benhamou, and Obie Award winner Zuleyma Guevara (Quail).

The Rediscovery Readings will continue December 2 with The Member of the Wedding, penned by Carson McCullers (The Heart is a Lonely Hunter) and directed by Francesca Sabel. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Both Florence and Soldadera are selections from Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre's Expand the Canon list for 2024. The full list will be announced October 21 at a brief pre-reading celebratory event, which is open to ticket holders and the public.

The Rediscovery Readings series will culminate in CSC's production of Childress' Wine in the Wilderness. The series began with Miss Lulu Bett by Zona Gale (Faint Perfume), which was showcased September 23. A final reading will be announced at a later date.
