Six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald's September 25 concert at the London Palladium will be filmed for future release. Soon to be back on Broadway starring in Ohio State Murders, McDonald will be backed at the concert by the 46-piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra led by Broadway music director Andy Einhorn (Hello, Dolly!).
In-person tickets for the one-night-only concert are available at Audra-London.com.
The concert film is produced by David Treatman Creative and STEAM Motion and Sound with co-producers Chris Oakland, Bill Frisbie, Paul Bonin-Rodriguez, and Simon Brook. The live concert itself is produced by Darren Bell, Dan Looney, Adam Paulden, and Jason Haigh-Ellery for Fourth Wall Live; and David Treatman Creative.
McDonald won Tony Awards for her performances in Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, Porgy and Bess, and Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, which includes wins in all four performance categories. On screen, McDonald has appeared in The Good Wife, Private Practice, The Good Fight, and more.
The concert film will not be McDonald's first. The stage and screen star has led several concert broadcasts through the Live From Lincoln Center series on PBS, including Audra McDonald and Friends: Build a Bridge and Audra McDonald Sings the Movies in 2006, and Audra McDonald: Go Back Home in 2013. A 2000 concert at London's Donmar Warehouse was also filmed for PBS broadcast and later released on home video.
