Donnie Hammond and Company in Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical

Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical is headed to Chicago, with a run set to begin May 31, 2023, at the Studebaker Theatre. Featuring the songs of Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Lloyd Price, the musical has a book by B. Jeffrey Madoff, based on conversations with Price himself.

The Chicago run follows a world premiere at People's Light in Malvern, Pennsylvania, earlier this year. Broadway alum Saint Aubyn led the production as Price; casting for the Chicago bow is to be announced.

Returning from the Pennsylvania run are director Sheldon Epps, choreographer Edgar Godineaux, and music director Shelton Becton. Further creative team members will be announced in the coming weeks.

Price grew up in New Orleans before launching a music career in 1952 and becoming a success in pre-Civil Rights America. Bringing together Black and white listeners through his music, the show features an ensemble of singers and dancers singing some of his most well-known hits, like "Lawdy Miss Clawdy," "Stagger Lee," and "Personality."

Ticket information is to be announced.
