News Little Thing Big Thing and The Quare Land Earn Top Awards at 2015 1st Irish Theatre Festival Little Thing Big Thing and The Quare Land earned top awards at the 2015 Origin's 1st Irish Theatre Festival Awards Ceremony at Scandinavia House Sept. 28. Geraldine Hughes and Ciaran Grant hosted.

Dublin-based Fishamble: The New Play Company took the Festival's Best Production award for Donal O'Kelly's Little Thing Big Thing. New York's Irish Rep took four awards for John McManus' The Quare Land, including Best Playwright for McManus and Best Director for Ciaran O'Reilly.

Myles Breen was awarded Best Actor for his performance as a cross-dressing gay man from a small town in Ireland in Language UnBecoming a Lady. Sorcha Fox was awarded Best Actress for her performance as a nun on the lamb with an ex-con in Little Thing Big Thing.

Irish comedian Pat Shortt won the Festival's Origin Award for his performance in Selfie, in which he "created comic havoc," and Peter Maloney won the Festival's Special Grand Jury Prize for his "unique contributions to New York theatre over many decades."
