Cabaret & Concert News Lillias White, Sasha Allen, and Jeannette Bayardelle Headline Queens of Soul Tribute Concert The music of soul icons Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, and more will be celebrated at the Triad in April.

Tony Award winner Lillias White (The Life, Fela!), Sasha Allen (Camp, Hair), and Jeannette Bayardelle (The Color Purple, Hair) are among the headliners who will pay tribute to the legacy of pioneering female soul artists in Queens of Soul: A Tribute to Our Reigning Divas at the Triad Theatre April 7–8 at 7 PM.

Queens of Soul will also feature performances by Jacqueline B. Arnold (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), R&B singer Monifah, Rashidra Scott (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Enga Davis (An Evening With Phyllis Hyman), Lady Pepper (A Soulful Christmas), DeAnne Stewart (Mighty Real…), Trish Divina, Milah Jae, Kareema Khouri, and more.

Classics by Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, and more are featured in the evening that is co-written by Kendrell Bowman and Anthony Wayne. Bowman also directs, with music director Alonzo Harris on keyboards, Brett Calder on guitar, TJ Griffin on drums, and David Holder on bass.
