Tony-winning stage and screen star Leslie Odom, Jr. will headline the Greater YMCA of NY's Heroes of NY gala June 15 at the Metropolitan Museum of the Arts.
The evening will honor the New York Mets, Raymond Yu and the Yu Family, as well as Citibank, all key supporters of the organization's Rowe Scholars program, which works to expand college access and provide career development opportunities for New York City high school students of color. Proceeds from the gala will support the Scholars program.
The black-tie event will begin with cocktails at 6:30 PM, followed by a dinner at 7:30. A special DJ set will be led by Grandmaster Flash.
Odom, Jr. made his Broadway debut in the original production of Rent, later appearing in Leap of Faith and winning a Tony Award creating the role of Aaron Burr in the original company of Hamilton. His career has since moved to the screen, where he's starred in One Night in Miami, Glass Onion, and Central Park, among other titles.
Tickets, beginning at $2,500, are available at YMCANYC.org.
