Len Cariou (Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music) returns to the New York stage starring in the title role of Mitch Albom's Tuesdays With Morrie, officially opening March 7 after beginning previews March 1. The Off-Broadway production is playing St. George's Episcopal Church through March 23.

Joining Tony winner Cariou in the cast is Chris Domig as Mitch. The production also features vocalist (and Playbill Search for a Star winner) Sally Shaw, with original music written and performed on piano by Domig.

Adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and Albom from the latter's book, Tuesdays With Morrie follows Albom as he reconnects with a former sociology professor after learning he's battling Lou Gehrig's disease.

Erwin Maas is directing the new production, which features set and lighting design by Guy de Lancey and sound design by Eamon Goodman. James Fitzsimmons is stage manager.

The staging is a production of Sea Dog Theater.
