California's La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts presents the world premiere of the new musical Did You See What Walter Paisley Did Today? beginning March 16 prior to an official opening March 18 for a limited engagement through April 2.
Developed and directed by BT McNicholl, the “beatnik” horror comedy musical features Steven Booth (School of Rock) as Walter Paisley, Vanessa Sierra as Carla, Ross Hellwig as Maxwell Brock, Kingsley Leggs (Sister Act) as Leonard DeSantis, Kathy Fitzgerald (Wicked) as Mrs. Swickert, Janna Cardia as Lili Von Vondergraff, Ashley Moniz (Kinky Boots) as Beatnik Girl, Josh Adamson as Detective Lou Raby, James Caleb Grice as Beatnik Guy, Jamir Brown as Clive, and Lucas Blankenhorn and Carlin Castellano in the ensemble.
With a book, music, and lyrics by Randy Rogel, Did You See What Walter Paisley Did Today? follows a struggling beatnik sculptor in San Francisco who stumbles upon a new style of art that thrusts him into fame, fortune, and perhaps some big trouble.
The production also has musical direction by Andrew Orbison, musical supervision by Kimberly Grigsby, choreography by Connor Gallagher, scenic design by John Iacovelli, lighting design by David Lander, projection design by Ryan Marsh, sound design by Cricket S. Myers, costume and hair and makeup design by Ann Closs-Farley, puppet design by Aran de la Peña, orchestrations by Tony winner Larry Hochman, dance arrangements by David Dabbon, and casting by Binder Casting's Chad Murnane.
The production stage manager is Bree Sherry, and the managing director is Gene O’Donovan.
